The rules of the game also change when there are different gender teams. On a boys team, there are 10 players but on a girls team, there are 12. For girls lacrosse, the game is split into 2 halves of 20 minutes each for youth lacrosse. For boys lacrosse, the game is split into 4 quarters with 10 minutes each for youth lacrosse. Girls lacrosse is considered a non contact sport where there is no physical contact. In boys lacrosse, it is a very physical contact based sport. Stick and bodily contact are used on the playing field depending on what age level your team is. When the game starts out for girls lacrosse, it starts with a draw. Which is unlike boys lacrosse because they start out with a face-off. The rules vary a lot when it comes to boys and girls lacrosse.
